Al Salam (SBL) agreed terms with 33-year old American center Anthony McClain (211cm-120kg-1988, college: Cincinnati). McClain joins another USA player Tavarion Nix who is already in the roster.
He played last season at Al-Hala in Bahrain Premier League. He helped them to win the Supercup and make to league semifinals. He also played for Al-Ahli (Premier League).
McClain is quite experienced player. McClain's career allowed him to visit five different continents, while he played in nine different countries. He tasted the life as pro basketball player in Europe, Asia, Latin America, Africa and of course North America. McClain has played previously professionally in Colombia (Bucaros), Malaysia (PRG Warriors), Singapore (Jobstreet.com Singapore Slingers), Slovakia (Nitra), Taiwan (Dacin Tigers), Tunisia (US Monastir), Libya (Ahly Benghazi), Czech Republic (Brno) and Thailand (Sting Rays, Mono Vampire, Hitech, Mono Thew and Thai General Equipment). He won Thailand Basketball League championship title in 2015 and 2018. McClain was voted to Asia-Basket.com All-ASEAN League Honorable Mention in 2016 and 2020.
He graduated from University of Cincinnati in 2012 and it will be his eleventh (!!!) season as a professional player.
